2003 Chevy Silverado homemade Air Box Cold Air Intake Mod with K&N filter

i dont have pics up yet, but the mod is simple and costs less than 15 bucks, less the K&N filter.
Go to Lowes or Home Depot and pick out a 8 ft. length of 4 inch black flexible pipe- the same you would use on your gutter spout..Then pick out a 4 inch flare attachment that will fit onto 4 inch pipe -it will serve to "catch air" out the front of vehicle. I call it a spout..see it in the pictures then it will make sense. Youll also need zip ties, preferably 12 inch ties, and duct tape.
1.First remove air box, and then 2.remove steel plate below air box. 3. Cut out 4 inch hole in bottom of air box 4. this is where you feed one end of the 4 inch pipe in, about 2 inches. (Bottom Steel plate does not go back in) 5. In opening of ground effects where tow hook pokes out--Remove this hook completely. This will not go back in. This is where cold air -catching ductwork will go. 6. put airbox back together and in place. 7 estimate how long the other end of 4 inch pipe will need to be and cut.
8. install air catching attachment and duct tape it, then poke thru opening.9 Zip tie it to frame)loop several to secure it. More details later..there it is, your 300.00 cold air intake with basically 60 bucks in materials and K&N Filter
